Concert and Dance Party
with RAKIYA!

A fiery Boston-based 8-piece Balkan Rom (Gypsy) Band!
www.rakiya.com

Passionate, high energy songs and dance music from the Rom people of Eastern Europe, with great complex rhythms and melodies! Rakiya is named for the fiery fruit brandy which is popular in the Balkans, and mentioned in many songs of the region. Though it is sold in stores, the best rakiya is home-made, and this particular batch was brewed secretly in a cold, dark basement somewhere in Brighton. MA. Rakiya performs electric, very danceable Balkan Rom (Gypsy) songs and dance tunes.
